Christingle is an offering given during advent. Usually, it is an orange that acts as a holder for a lighted candle (sometimes with the addition of walnuts or even marshmallows!). Deriving from Christkindl - a word of German origin, Christingle translates as "Little Christ Child", and is an offering to Jesus Christ as the "Light of the World".
